Is Lake Dunlap open for fishing yet? If so, has anyone been? I am thinking about going there in the morning... Or should I go elsewhere?

It is open. This is from their website.

"The Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority General Manager William "Bill" E. West has further amended the restrictions to Lake Dunlap, Lake McQueeney, Lake Placid (Placid Dam to IH-10), Lake Placid (Above IH-10), Meadow Lake, H-4 (Lake Gonzales) and H-5 (Lake Wood) to allow the use of non-motorized boats beginning at noon, Friday July 16, 2010. The new modifications also impose a limit on time of use to no-wake speed (headway speed) during the hours of 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise.

The public may continue to enjoy the use of motorized boats to include towing of objects or individuals, and use of personal watercraft on all of the lakes. However, the restrictions continue to prohibit towing of inflatable objects and other water toys on all of the Hydro Lakes. This prohibition of the use of inflatable objects and other water toys will remain in effect until noon, Sept. 16, 2010."

Wonderful. I will be there in the morning. Anybody have any advice? Try not to catch a couch?

Caught six from about seven to 1030. No bigguns. Just pound to two pounds. Water really wasn't too bad. Down the lake at the big bend it got pretty nasty. Still some floating logs and telephone poles. Glad to get back out there. Went and swam at Canyon this afternoon. Through a worm around for a bit while the wife laid out. No fish there. Have yet to catch a fish at that lake. Anyone got advice for there?
