Wish I was going but then again? Get up at 4:30 to catch shad for stripers at Buchanan or get up at 4:30 for reds? Thats a tough one.

Mike did ya'll do anygood? We started out on Bruanig and only picked up some small hybrids. Jumped over to Cal and picked up one small hybrid. Had two reds get off. Pretty tough for us.

I know this is a Calaveras thread but I thought I'd mention that I fished Braunig Saturday morning for about three hours out of my kayak, and only fished a small area near the dam, but only had one bite, and no fish!

Talked to some others who said it's been pretty slow the last few days, so I guess it's the dog days of summer that are finally here and they are shut down until they adjust or we do, and figure out their pattern.

Just one more cast!

Hey Jimbo, No problem it's all about sharing info.Hit Cally at about 7:30 am Sunday. Downrigged hard till noon then the heat won out.For those keeping score. Heat= 1 Chief Mike= 0. It sure is easier to handle the heat when your catching fish. I downrigged all around the right side of the crappie wall, striper ridge and all points in between. Trying a new fish finder/gps. Marked alot of fish (arches) & bait balls. Only managed 2 catfish biggest one about 3 1/2 pounds. Released them both to fight another day. I used every spoon I had. I had a good time, ready to hit it again. I may try sometime this week after work. Anybody up for it. Stay safe. Chief Mike.

chief mike... try looking for spots with NO bait...the reds will be there, or have been there recently smile ...the reds have been moving all over the lake lately, don't stay put for too long!
