no grass, no docks.
Its tough in the Summer, but a frog does work well close to shoreline flooded grass.
There is plenty of timber you can fish also.
There is a couple of offshore humps that are good too, if you have navionics you will see where they are.

I like Aquilla.... I fish it on weekends rather than Whitney because there is less traffic there and you are much more likely to catch a big bass.... there are some rocky points on the main lake that often produce...
The lower part of the lake gets hit pretty hard.. I fish above Snake Island on the west side... some good rocky shore line and timber along the banks... the lake is up now so the timber on the fence lines and the creek channel (behind Snake Island) are not as visible as when it is when the lake is down like it normally is this time of the summer... but the big trees can be fished down the trunks, you just have to use your sonar to find the tree/fence lines and the creek channel.. but, getting fish out is a chore... lots of structure...
I think Aquilla can give you a 9 or 10 lber on any given trip.

We fished Sunday... I think we only caught 2 small fish (2lbs or so) but we lost several large fish on frogs along the back of Snake Island, just couldn't get them out of the stumps... Went back Monday with rods rigged with braid, but didn't get a strike in the same area.. don't understand if the fish had moved or what....

I caught my 2 small fish right by snake island on a spinner bait. Didn't have anything big hit over there but did get snagged a few times.

I had one Sunday that I thought was really a very nice fish.. not a big strike on the frog, just sucked it under... got the hook set and he went around a stickup.... line just screamed off the reel... never saw the fish... but the line just snapped after a bit.... had to respool the reel I lost so much line. A second fish slammed the frog right at the boat... and immediately dove under the boat, again pulling off line... don't think it was as big as the first fish... but, anyway I didn't get a good hook set and it was gone pretty quickly... The fish were really active on Sunday... we had a lot hits that didn't hook up... they were really after the frogs... love those Ribbits. Monday was a totally different day... no strikes on frogs.. caught one on a spook down at the dam.
