well lipripper doesnt make an appearance very often but being that me and shirley have been fishing this tourney for 3 plus years I just have a few cents on this issue. First off this is a great tourney run by great guys and a bunch of good anglers that all get along well. Now I have been thinking about last nights ordeal and like buckethead i was not around for everything, but after talking to both sides in this I feel that for the last 3 or so years for the most part we have been on the good ol boys system, meaning that we havent had a strict exact time and most of the time if there is an issue someone tells the TD and after weigh in there is a little meeting discussing the issue to make sure all understand. Which makes last night unordinary and a little odd. Unfortunaly as tough as it has been recently it makes things a little more tense when the team that was DQd was in 2nd place. what is done is done but I think the issue can be resolved by doing as Astro said in the post before craig and also every time each person pays their entry the TD gives them an official time. That way for the folks that dont have graphs and may go by the time on their watch as we do everyone can be on the same page. As said before the 2 that got DQ are stand up guys and would never even think about cheating if they felt they were in the wrong. Sorry so long winded just an unfortunate deal and offered my 2cents. I know vince and buda will fix this and things will work out. hope to see all you folks on sund just stay out of the river theres no fish in it and darder signed a lean on it this afternoon and you will get fined.

Guys, I hated to have to do it. Just a couple of quick things that I want to address and then we are going to move forward.
Salomons and Parkhurst are in no way being accused of cheating, thats not what this was about at all. It was a simple rule violation, thats a totally different deal and I dont want anyone to even begin to think that their integrity was ever in question. This was nothing more than an honest mistake, one they didnt knowingly make. We have all made one at one time or another fishing tournaments over the years... at least I know I have. Gentlemen, if your reading this I really do hope you guys will come back and fish with us.
In regard to the protest, I want all of you to know that this was brought to my attention PRIOR to their fish being weighed. There were actually 2 teams late, however the other team didnt have fish they just loaded up and split. This is not the first time we have had a DQ for being late... last year it happened twice at Casino, one of the times to a team that was also in the money.
Official time has always been available when you register. In the past all you had to do was ask, but I will make it a point to let guys know as they register from this point forward.
I appreciate everyone of you guys that show up and fish every week. We are the biggest drawing workingmans tournament in the Metroplex, its you guys that make this tournament what it is.
If any of you have any further questions, suggestions, or if you just wanna shoot the breeze please feel free to send me a PM or give me a call. 817-532-7285

Just my 2 cents worth. If you are going to DQ someone for being late. There better be someone you can check in with. If I am not mistaken but doesn't the person putting this event on not have to pay entry. If that's the case get your butt back to the ramp and take names. Or give everyone a poker chip and put a bucket on the dock and at 9:30 pick up the bucket. You guys are weighing in fish at 9:30 and boats are waiting to be put on trailers. It's tough to see who is in and who isn't especially at night and most boats looks the same (one light in front one in back) I have had no problems with the good ole boys attitude that this tourney has, but it goes both ways. If you are not paying to fish and putting on the event we might need a little bit of organization. (live well checks and a check in station) Again just my 2 cents worth.

When you pay make sure your clock matches the TD's clock! Problem solved.

We're all adults...and you know what time to be back for weigh in. You should know, if you have fish and you think you have a chance to take a place, to be where you need to be and be there on time 2 or 3 minutes before or more so you can load your boat. I believe all their asking is your boat be OUT of the water, right? So from that standpoint, it's pretty simple. We're not talking about a bassmasters tourney here...it's a fun workingman that uses the honest policy and it's worked great up until someone gets DQ'd for being late....then all of a sudden people start having issues?? Come on guys!

Just my cents.
These wed night tournaments have always been the same on the weigh in rule.As long as your not on pad at 9:30,its ok to be setting at the dock,or loading your boat, bagging your fish or what ever.Just dont be on pad,or coming off the pad at 9:30.Myself if i had any weigh fish,i wouldnt push it to the last minutes to get there. Also its not that hard to see someone comming off pad at 9:30,by then generely most people are loading,or alredy have loaded. And as for who ever is running the tourny, and fishing that night for free, its worth it,there the last ones to leave, and the first ones back to set up for the weigh in.I think having a lax weigh in is good, with 20-30 boats at night it gives people more time to get situated and weigh there fish in.Not to mention probably safer, everyone is not rushed to get loaded up,or in the weigh in line.If the rule for weigh in was,be in line by 9:30 everyone would be running around like a chicken with its head cut off,and i think there would be alot more DQ's or people being late to weigh there fish.
Just my thoughts.

Come on guys! The contestants have to be off pad around the dock area at 9:30, not off the water, not in line, just off pad. Folks, lets all just take a breath here. All suggestions and input are duly noted, thank you.

texmae i dont think anyone is being irrational here we are all friends and there is no hard feelings. but like you said we are all grown men and when something like this happens thats out of the oridinary then the only way to fix it and make sure it is clear is to talk about it. And buda it was the wrong choice of words for me to say cheating, thats my bad buddy. The main thing here is if we are going to start being strict on check in times then we also just need to stop accepting the people who fish the off limits areas. I know its not the bassmasters but we have to look at both sides. And lannie you need to calm down dadgumit, lol.

If someone has fish to weigh and was protested for the off limits or I saw em fishing the off limits they would be DQ'ed also. Lets not beat this thing to death, if any of yall wanna talk about it some more come see me next wed and I will do everything I can to straighten out or clarify any issues that we may have. I hope all of yall have a great weekend, for those fishing the 199 Series GOOD LUCK! I may see yall at weigh in!
