Id look into a revo s, citica, or a bps pro qualifier. Pro Qualifier comes in a few different gear ratios if you were looking at it for a specific job.

You might give a look at Cabela’s Prodigy Baitcaster, it’s made by Daiwa, and based on the Daiwa TD Advantage. LINK

Just checked Cabela’s web site. Currently these reels are on sale for $69.99. So for $150 you could get two.

Shimano is the only way to go, if your willing to get a used reel. For 150 bucks you can get a used curado and or chronarch if diligent in your search. Check this forum and Ebay, Craigslist and liquidation at online sites.

Shimano has just introduced an new casting reel at ICAST.

The Caenan 100/101.

$89.99
7.2 ounces
6.5:1/ 27 IPT
6 bearings (SS)
10 pounds max drag
1/8 turn side plate
Aluminum Lo Mass spool
VBS reduced mass hub
EVA handle grips
Mono 8/180, 10/155, 14/110
Power Pro 30/190, 50/120, 65/80
This reel is pretty amazing. I have been fishing for a little over a year now. Performance is about on par with the older Curado B model.

Methinks that this is the perfect reel for a St.Croix Mojo Bass rod! banana

citica or a used curado

Politicians, baseball players, high-powered corporate CEO's they all seem to eventually let us down. Nature, however, does not. Look to her for inspiration and you will learn the secrets to living a good life. The most Important lesson it would seem is to make sure you spend as much time fishing as anything else.
