Anyone know anything about this event in Longview on August 21?
I saw something about it on LaFlyfiosh.com but it was very little information. Sounds like it might be fun.

This was the first I heard of it. It said more details to follow. Mike Hawkins is calling it the Ark-La-Tex Tie In. This just might be something I would be interested in, thanks for the heads up on that.

Looks like Mike Hawkins is in charge of it, he is in Longview I believe. He probably still belongs to the Longview club, but I am just guessing on that.

The notice on LaFlyfish said that it is another of those combined efforts like the one at Caddo Lake a few months ago. The North Louisiana Flyfishers Club from Shreveport, Lone Star Flyfishing club from Tyler, and the East Texas Flyfishers club from Longview. Looks like someone has figured out that if they give the information to Catch, he will mention it on his web site and folks from all over the South read that information on a weekly basis. Since Uncle Larry attended the thing earlier at Caddo, I suspect that there would also be some mention about it on his web site WarmFly.com.

I think August is a great time to have events like this because it is something we can do under that great air conditioning that is so useful when it is just too hot for most of us to stand to fish.

Here's the posting:
Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 21. Mike Hawkins of the North Louisiana Fly Fishers, and the organizing force behind the Caddo Conclave, is at it again with another planned event to be held at the Gregg County Historical Museum in downtown Longview, Texas. The tentatively titled, "Ark-La-Tex Tie-In", will benefit Project Healing Waters. Once again, the NLFF club will be working cooperatively with the East Texas Fly Fishers and Lone Star Fly Fishers to help sponsor the event. More details will follow, but you can be sure that it will be worth the ride.
