Man, I thought Power Poles were pretty popular. Seems like alot of you don't care for them?? They are great, My partner has 2 on his boat and they hold the boat in place. Just the problem is they are too expensive and the hydraulics takes up way too much of the storage compartment. These Minn Kotas Power Pole seem to be a the real deal and priced right and also they have Minn Kota to stand behind the warranty

Finally someone came out with something new and updated. I'm glad I didn't get a Power Pole now. I have learned never buy the first product to enter the market....wait until someone tweaks the design and makes it better! Agreed......

And the hydraulics is like an 8" box that I don't even notice. I will admit that the Minn Kota one looks cooler.

it looks like they took everything about the powerpole and just made it better... Except the ability to lower it when going under a bridge or cable when on the water. I don't see any adjustments to make it possible. It looks like a good product otherwise but the thing no one is realizing is that Power Pole has so much of the market and already people are referring to the "concept" as a Power Pole. Thats stout brand marketing to overcome for Minn Kota. Kind of similar to how most lipless crankbaits get called a Trap and most soft jerkbaits get called a Fluke.

That's how the big boys role. I'm shocked they let power pole have the market that long. Sad in a way but welcome to America. Motor Guide will be next, except there version will malfunction lol.

That is an excellent point that I had not thought of yet Mark. From the looks of the one on their homepage (which may be the 6'4" model ???) it doesn't seem too much higher than the engine, although the engine is trimmed up some.

I have fished two years with my partners and only 1 time have we had to lower his power poles to get under a bridge and that was on lake Bonham.

Until the first time you are doing the quick disconnect on the water near a bridge and it slips so your $1200 item sinks in 20ft of water. Surely there is a feature we are not seeing on it that will make it possible as Minn Kota is a quality company. I want to see it first before I declare it the best ever.
