I've been there three times but have not been there in about a year. The lake is loads of fun and probably totally different than anything you've ever fished before. Make sure you have a map of the lake before you go; particularly if you dont have GPS. Practice your underhand and sidearm casts because if you cast overhand you'll end up in the Cypress trees all day long! Good luck.

We stayed at Uncertain Tx the 4th weekend. If you are near there find government ditch. Take it to the river, turn left. Fish the boat docks along the river. If you see good looking stuff on the other bank you can quickly troll over. Caught them on chatterbaits, baby brush hogs and trick worms.
If you frog fish there is so much of the lake to fish but I did not know what areas to try. This hot I would stick to the river.

As you go up the river you will see a creek that goes off to the right. Has some lily pads on side of the mouth and a coulpe of big laydowns on the other. Behind that laydown is a flat that drops off quick. A couple of guys were sitting on that area and were whacking them pretty good.

Im a lil late to help you on this trip, but if your looking for the best time for a big bite on Caddo try spring time. Feb thru April plan your trip around the full moon. Be an extra bonus if you could be on the lake during frontal conditions. During summer months try the mouth of sloughs off the river and alligator bayou. I love this lake, it gets in your blood. I watched my dad catch tha fish of his lifetime 11.16lb. Had 30lbs with four fish, no net, had to lip them. I set the lake record this past March with 16.17 on scattered trees. That an duckblinds are dangerous at times. Im posting under a friends name, my user name is kburns1617 or epicbirdsnest it another friend. Dont get on here to often, but next time you go hit me up. Be glad to help if I can.
