went out to joe pool on friday and boy were the sandies still hungry even after thanksgiving!!! after all the wind calmed down hit firemans hump and the drop off across the lake from there. caught them constantly for a good few hrs. doubles left and right. we only tossed the definite keepers in the well and didnt know how many we had untill we got home. cleaned 40 and threw back jus as many. all on slabs with "deer hair hooks" tied above. ive found how to get those sandies and boy is it fun. how did everyone else do that fished pool?

I fished on GV Friday with a fella who told me he was absolutely positive that you could not catch fish on Joe Pool. I told him he was dead wrong, but he was pretty ademant. I'll have to relay your results to him. Good job............

hey ur friend is sadly mistaken. i try to go as much as i can which is probably about 5 times a month and everytime i go i catch more than i wanna clean. alot of people think that there are no fish in joe pool. i used to think that too untill i went out with howell dodd. he proved me wrong and turned me on to those awesome sandies. give it a try and learn like i did and u will have a ball. o yea we also caught a couple crappie over in the boat slips. only one keeper but boy was it a doosie. 1 lb 5 oz!!!!!! on pool. thats probably the biggest one pulled out since the spring i was very surprised.

i know i should keep quit about the honey hole just across town but im tired of people doggin on joe pool sayin there are no fish in there cuz i love that lake.

THat firemans hump holds alot of fish. There are 2 more humps like taht that also hold alot of fish. You are right though Hal Dodd is the man to meet if you are interested in catching sandies on pool.

Only cause I have beer on my boat! Hahaha

My wife gave me a trip with Howell for Fathers Day this year.

My son & I went out fishing with him. We had the best time ever. Howell has had us on fish ever since.
