Went fishing Sunday.Lots of large striper chasing shad to the surface(early morning hours right side of dam).If you are looking for some top water action, now is the time. They were hitting just about anything. They were chasing shad all the way toward where the boat were anchoring.6 gates open. Also lots of catfish on the left side of the dam.Using a large float purchase from browder marina and GULPS pearl white 4" swimming mullet purchase from bass pro I,ve caught a cat just about every cast.Didn't take me long to limited out.

Its a great area if you have a boat.

As a bank fisher, I'm disgusted with the amount of trash, discarded fishing gear, fish parts, and baitfish that is on the shore. I won't be visiting again until or unless I have a boat to ride in.

Thanks for the report. Mite go there thursday or maybe conroe... Is 6 gates open in the norm or is that cause of all the rain?

Yeah the banks at LLD are kinda nasty

Its trashy at dennison dam also.Alot of modelo beer cans and also alot of corona extras bottles litter the banks.I pick up trash when i have time. There are alot of stupid people out there who dont care about our rivers. They are just interested in getting dinner.Theres alot of idiots who cut their braided lines and leave em in the river, real deal dummies.

Go to myfishingpictures.com to see some pics.(Click on Fresh Water)I don't know how to post pictures on this forum.I am a beginners at computer. So even if someone shows me how I'm clueless.Call Browders Marina the day before to check how much water is release before you go or check the Trinity River Authority web site.Too much or too little water can make a differences.

Cat fish absolutely love the Gulps artificial bait under a floaty.Stripers will attack just about anything moving in the water when they are chasing shads(big bait big fish less hits, little bait little fish more hits).Just use your favorite lures and be ready when they start to surface.
