Can someone give me a good website, or physical store, where I can buy a chip for our region?
Thanks in advance.

Can you get the chips in SD or do they all come in Micro SD with the adapter now?

In 2010 Navionics changed from the SD format to the MSD. The MSD format is supplied with an adaptor.

Use caution with the Micro SD in the adapter ..... they come out!!!!
Just ask me how I nearly lost one, a $200 Platinum one in fact, and Navionics solution was "be careful".
Poor solution if you ask me!!!!!

I think I remember your post. That is why I was checking to see if it was available in just a SD card. Doesn't make since that they couldn't make both.

Ronnie I actually thought about the "superglue" but was told that wouldn't be a good idea. I don't know why but .......
I kinda like your "piece of scotch tape" idea though!
Actually thought Navionics would have offered a better solution but ...... maybe not.

Why do they make them in Micro SD? I'm not aware of any units with a MSD port.

they may be ahead of us, in what the future holds. maybe the newer units that are projected to come out in the future, will have microsd slots.

The change to the Micro SD is due to advancements in technology moving forward. The Micro SD is removable in order to support the new units which have been released to the market place such as the Elite and the Endura units.
The Micro SD is supplied from the manufacturer with an SD adaptor. The Micro SD should be easily removable from the adaptor but should not simply fall out. Navionics does recommend that caution be used when inserting or removing a chart from your unit.
