Has anyone tried launching from Shady Grove Park lately (free ramp by softball fields). I know Eagle Mountain is a little low, just don't know if the ramp is in enough water to launch. Plan to try sometime this weekend. Last time me and a buddy showed up at 700am and drove around for 30 minutes looking for a launch because Roeser Park was not open until 0800, Lauderdale's wanted $20.00 to launch from a dirt ramp , and finally settled on Twin Points for $5.00 that you fell off the ramp in 1' of water.. I may just make the extra trip to West Bay if Shady Grove is not do-able.

Weekend, I would not try Shady Grove. The lake is 4' low. Can be done.Very shallow tho.Twin points has two ramps.Would use the east ramp or go to West Bay.Was out last night getting bait and the birds were going nuts.Good luck! David WWW.DAVESGUIDESERVICE.NET

weekend, it's doable right now, you'll drag bottom a little bit getting out of the area right there by the launch but unless you've got lots of hull in the water, you can trim the motor up and take it real easy and get across. I live a block away and have been launching my 15' bass boat there. Use the right side of the ramp, then beach right there next to the ramp (on the right side of the ramp). You'll roll across a sandbar about 30 or so feet out from the ramp, but once you get across that you should be OK.

If your on that side of the lake just pay $2 and launch at the Pelican Bay ramp. Good ramp and price is right. Just pay $2 at the gas station.

Thanks guys for the responses. David, I think we launched off the jet ski ramp .. we were in a hurry to get on the lake and it didn't look too bad, but.... rich1979, I think I remember that sand bar.. LARGE alligator gar were schooling there last time I used that ramp (last year) rednecktexan, I will have to check that ramp out. I don't really like going all the way to West Bay, just to run the boat all the way back down to the dams. WB does have a good ramp and docks though. Steve, you have mail. I will show you what I know anytime your ready.

Stay away from Shady grove. Trailer fell off the end of ramp and ripped my hanger off left side trying to get out. Pay the 2 bucks at P.B. Or on the other side of the lake go to Indian creek. I found a free ramp off Peden Road but have not tried it yet.
