Got an HDS7 and need to learn how to really use the thing. So far I have just been using the chart and kind of ignoring the sonar, lol.

Hi Wetter-the-Better,I have a HDS7 as well,I love it,very easy gragh to run,you probably already know, but use your page buttons,& not menu,easier to use.Does yours have the side scan & down scan.It's well worth the money,big chunk of change but worth it.I'm still tring to fine tune mine,but can see what I need to see.

No, I haven't gotten the side scan stuff yet but will eventually. Are the default sonar settings what you have yours set on?

Yes ,for the most part.I know you can go to manual settings,I just leave mine on auto rangeing.
