Before I "Kick the Bucket" here what I want to to fishing wise.
1. Catch a Peacock Bass on th Amazon. 2. Catch a fish in every state in the US.(14 down already) 3. Catch a Goliath Tiger fish on the Upper Congo. 4. Catch a Giant Grouper over 300 pounds. 5. Win a Tourney Trail Championship 6. Catch a 14+ lb LMB
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Fishing rod in one hand - 10# LMB lipped in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Ride!"

I have done mine. Gulf fishing. A disaster. It was a company contest I won for a weekend. The boat engine was loud as a jet. They served things like beer and burritoes and people were throwing up over the side of the boat. When we reached the fishing grounds trigger fish followed us around like pirana. They took the bait as soon as it hit the water.Going back a cold front hit and you had to hang onto something to keep from getting knocked off your feet. Our flight was immediately as we returned so without a chance to clean up we smelled like dead fish.We had several empty seats around us on the plane back,of course.I will stick with freshwater.

1. Bluefin tuna on topwater with spinning gear off Cape Cod.
2. Tarpon on light tackle from a Panga in Belize
3. Stripers on topwater in the Chesapeake.
4. Bluefish in the surf on topwater (see a common theme?)
5. Rooster fish in Costa Rica on spinning gear
6. 100lb + YFT at the Guadalupe Rocks
7. Peacock Bass on a handmade plug
8. Bluegill at Reelfoot in Tennessee (done it but want to do it again).
9. Snook on pinfish in Florida (on top if possible but don't know how well a snook takes a plug).
Plenty more...
Unlike most, I don't really dream about monster fish. I dream about circumstances. I love topwater, so a midsize striper on top is better, to me, than a much bigger one trolling.

A tarpon should be on everyone's list. Key West is a great place to make that happen.
I want a roosterfish , permit , snook , and giant Halibut,
Still looking for a 20 + striper and a 3+ crappie.

1) Galapagos islands trip. I hear the cubera snapper are monstrous!
2) Giant bluefin. Just once in my life.
3) Catch & release a great white at least 1,000#
4) Deep drop fishing around Madagascar. Might just get one of those prehistoric dudes ... y'know, coelocanths.
5) Revillagigedos islands 21-day trip out of San Diego with a 300+ lb YFT
6) Just for giggles & grins, theres a few areas around the Marianas trench that might be fun to drop a massive squid jig & see if a true giant squid will latch on!
