What a beautiful day it was, cool and sunny. My wife and I had the lake to ourselves. I am not sure if it was Friday football or the low water, but it was nice.
We fished exclusively with plastics for Hybrids. Trolled them behind a clear diver. 4 inch Yellow shad shape with sparkles on a 1/4 oz. salt water jig head. We changed to these after having several hooks straightened out from the big hybrids.
These guys were relatively shallow, 16-20 ft. We landed around 16 Hybrids and only one really large White. All of the fish were keeper size with the largest going 6.5 pounds. All fish C&R.
Question: When pulling up the very steep ramp at Fishermans Point, is it best to be in drive or 1st gear??? 2WD F-150...

Capn Rick, I use a 4WD and I have trouble with a heavy boat on that ramp. Had to put it in low 4WD last trip out.

Hope to be out there this Sat.

Fishing is the activity of hunting for fish. Catching is what it's about.

If the Ramp is wet, doesn't matter what gear you put it in. You'll have to get someone to pull you out.

My Son's F-150 2WD does best in Overdrive and in Drive. My F-250 2WD Diesel does OK in Drive. We're both pulling 22' Center Consoles.

Need to make sure your Trailer Tires don't go off the Drop-Off in the Water, and that your Truck Tires don't get off the Concrete.

Oh yea, last two Days have been as good as it gets for Whites & Hybrids this Fall. Saturday was only Fair. We've got one Boat open on Thursday & Friday of this week, and then booked until the week of October 23rd. Lots of Folks know what happens on RC in the Fall! smile Give us a call to get in on some of the most AWESOME action you'll experience. It's just about to get going GOOD, & it will last well into December!

This is how I drive with my 2 wheel drive.. Idle slowly in drive while depressing the accelerator slightly, if the one tire starts to spin, ease off the trottle slowly and depress on the brakes lightly to lock the spinning wheel. Doing this will help both wheels to turn under the same load/pressure and helps avoiding a spinning tire. Hope this helps..
