Nice! The trimming on the foam is precision.

Ken: Great job. Jack Gartside would have been proud of you. I think Jack would have let you buy him another gin and tonic on that one.

I got a chuckle out of that, Dale. Thanks. Today's version will be black, blue, and gray - and I'm going to experiment with some sililegs added to push more water for redfish while cutting the upper lip back to almost nothing to all but eliminate the popping. It can spook reds in really shallow water. So this will be a fleeing blue crab imitation.

Ken: You might also want to tie a few in some shad colors for Texoma or The White River below Bull Shoals for when they are running too many turbines and creating a shad hatch? Is that what they call it when the shad are cut up like in a blender?

I am glad you got a chuckle out of that. For those that did not know Jack, there was seldom a time when buying him anther gin and tonic was not the answer to something. He is missed. Fly tying lost one of it's true characters when he passed.

Big Dale.

Blue crab gurgler...

P.S. I went back and cut about 1/3 to 1/2 off of each of the sililegs after these photos were taken.

The blue and black materials make this pattern tough to photograph well. So I've included a few different shots...

That is a nice clouser. What hook did you use?
