I broke 5 inches off the tip of my brand spankin' new Cara T7 Head Turner today..first trip out. Was trying to get a deep hooked fish off, opened my storage compartment to get my needle nose, rod kind of jostled into the way and the lid slip out of my hand. Snap...needless to say, I was/am very upset.

Anyways, I figure someone can take the old tip guide and put it on the what is now the new tip. Not sure what I will do with a 6'5" Head Turner, but I guess I can find some use for it...

I am in Wylie...so NE DFW area. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

Kudos to you for doing the right thing and maning up to admit it was your own fault. So many guys would take the new rod in and demand a replacement since it was brand new. I am sorry you broke your new rod but it is refreshing to see someone doing the right thing considering some of the things I read og guys doing on here from time to time.

Anyway. Academy, BPS, and other retailers sell replacement tips and glue and replacing the tip is very easy if you can find a tip that fits. That will be a very stiff rod when you are done repairing it.

Purcase a glue-on tip from Acadamy and enjoy your 6' Flippin Stick. Slam the door on it again and get another tip and take up ice fishing!. Just kidding. Real easy to glue on another tip.

If you're not comfortable doing that yourself, Bobby Silger (lure buddy here on TFF) will do it for you quick and cheap, and he's close to you. Send him a PM.

It'll still be 6'5". Short, but not unusable. I might can still stand to t-rig with it maybe. I'll have to see.

Thanks for the suggestions. I might look at doing myself..

So upsetting..

Depends on where you bought the pole. I snapped one a while back and BPS gave me a brand new one because it was new. I might of gotten lucky or something but they were very nice about it. They also knew it was completely my fault. IMO you should atleast go see if they can do anything. You never know until you try. Good luck.

I would take it back. You never know, if they dont then you are right back where you were with broken pole.

I broke off about 6" of a falcon 6-6 worm rod, and replaced the tip. Now it is a favorite 6' for shallow cranks where you are making short casts.
