I have a tourney over there tomorrow. I haven't fished it in over a year and struggled out there last time. I usually fish reeds for a while then back out to some points. I usually am always wondering what depth the fish are in and if they are even in the reeds when I fish that lake. Any help would be appreciated. Fishing against locals and will probably be donating regardless.

I am sure the locals will be on their offshore spots. However, we where on shallow fish all day long last Sat. Most areas of the lake were producing. Some areas are too shallow but if you can get your boat in the area there seem to be fish. Not necessarily the reeds either.

Lots of "skunk" weed everywhere not holding many fish but some were on the outside edges.

We where catching them on poppers, frogs, chatterbait type, shallow cranks, lipless, flukes, and shallow C-Rigs. I think the deepest fish came from about 6'

Lots of schools of bait fish... There will be fish around the same area.

Two weeks ago there were tons of schools of baitfish all over the lake. Fishing was really tough only caught six. Only caught one fish out of the reeds, but it was the best fish of the day. If you get a cloudy day which is what I had it seems like it pulls the fish out of the reeds and scatters them, however if you get a sunny warm day I would be flipping reeds all day. Look for deeper holes in the reeds wherever you can find them. Also I would stay closer to main lake the backwater seemed to be dead. Hope this helps.

Call John at Crucial Tackle he can point you in the right direction. He may be busy moving some stuff but I am sure he can help.

Yep, but he'll have to PM me because we're still trying to get the cable company to hook everything up so our Vonage line will be active at the new location. Our move-in is around 65% complete. We'll announce a Grand Opening soon as well as celebrating our two year anniversary here in Bonham!!!
