I got a finished up with my work, so I ran down to Lake Fork to test out the new crappie bait that Lake Fork Trophy Lures is rolling out this month. I have been working with Ronnie Parker, CEO of LFT lures, on some colors the past few weeks, and was on a mission to test the new baits! I had the pleasure of visiting with Gary Dobyns, of Dobyns Rods while I was there at Lake Fork Tackle. Gary is a very nice guy, and gave me some good insight to his rods and the quality rods they produce. After grabbing some baits from Ronnie, I hit the water. It did not take long to catch a limit, I caught fish at every stop, bridges, brush, and standing timber! The new 2" LIVE Baby Shad, flat out caught em! You can get them in their retail store in Emory, or get them online at lftlures.com. Here are the pics... enjoy!

Good Fishin

John

Great report John. Before I even read the text I saw the bait in the 4th pic and was about to ask you if that wasn't one of the NEW L.F.T. crappie baits. My oldest brother has some dealings with Ronnie and he told him that I was a crappie addict so he gave him a few for me to try. Haven't had a chance to yet but after your report, I'm anxious to now. These are the baits he sent me to try...

They look like they'll be dandy, can't wait to try them out.

Not off the top of my head, they have about 14 of the 27 poured, but the best is yet to come, I would wait, Ronnie plans on having full stock within about 10 days or so!!!

I've seen those on one of Crappie Dale's vids on youtube. They look like a mini Lake Fork Magic Shads. I want some!!!!!!!!

Yes, it is a scaled down version of the magic shad...the thing I like about them is the plastic is not as soft as the bobby garland baits! Dont get me wrong I love the bobby garland baits, but the lake fork baits are more firm, and dont tear out as easy! More fish with fewer baits!!!!!

Just got a note from Ronnie and he said the colors they have ready are for sale at the store of by phone (800-408-2028) and there are more colors coming. I think I'll get a small assortment mailed out Monday so I can try them out on Saturday. I don't think the 3 I have would be enough for a propper test.

Thanks for the kind words John. I swear I'm coming back to Fork soon and we're on a crappie trip. I hope you guys don't throw a bass guy out of here grin I had a great trip to TX and met John and many more very nice anglers. I grabbed some of the new LFT baits as well, knowing on tough days they will fill out a bass limit quickly. As always I made some new friends. This trip was very special because it was to see the best back surgeon in the country, Dr Paul Detwiler. Ernie Dye LFT's manager paid me one of the best compliments I've ever had. He told me I'd make a good Texan. I have plenty of relatives in Texas and i know this was a very special comment. I get to make several trips a year. Yall are special people, save me a little piece of Texas, I'll be a neighbor one day.
