It's been a few years but I think you have to be more towards the main lake (at least girl scout camp to the south). Look for 15-30 foot water near ledges (not hard to find on Belton) and long deep points. You need to fish C-Rig or slow plastics. Drop shot and jig may work. You must be patient.

Nighttime will have them coming closer to the shore and on to the edges of the flats to feed.

Having said all of that Belton is traditionally a tough lake - I think there is a good fish population but there is a lot of water.

Can't argue with that,my friend.Ledges,ledges,ledges.4" worms will get you a lot of bites, but they may all be peanuts.Throw slow sinking plastics over deep ledges and you should get a few bites,no matter the bait.Out there, there is no dominant color although I used up a new bag of Renegade purple/fire worms one day.

That is some great advice! Bass are deep right now, and many are suspended in the trees, so working a texas rigged worm, brush hog, and my favorite - a Jig in the tops of the trees, worked very slow and crawling it over the branches, then you get bit. If the fish are sucked to the bottom for some reason - the c-rig is king. The bite changes daily so be rigged up for both situations.
