I know last year when Falcon was so full I caught a ton of fish everytime I went to Falcon. Although, I made two five day trips to Falcon back in May and the fishing just kept getting better with both deep and shallow bites. If the fishing gets better than it was a month ago I may be looking to buy property in Zapata for weekend trips from San Antonio.

I'm going tomorrow and Saturday so short term, no I'm not excited about the rising water. Longer term, heck yeah!

I know what you mean. I was going this weekend. First my partner had to back out last week so heck I'm going to go anyways. Then all this water started coming so I said the wise choice is to wait and let things settle. Besides I am going down in two weeks anyways with the club.

Want to go to Falcon but just can't seem to get a trip lined up. Would love to be fishing it with the water rising. I am going to Amistad but since they have started letting so much water out, not sure what to expect.

barnez, it's going to scatter the fish, rather than have them ganged up. It'll be more like spring fishing as far as techniques go. Don't worry though, you'll still catch 'em and Charlie will have 'em dialed in for you by Sunday.

If Amistad is anything like it was about a year and a half ago when it filled up so, you can expect tough, tough fishing. Amistad was just starting back to be somewhat good fishing at about 3-4 ft below pool. What few reports I heard from this past weekend it appears to be headed back to the tough fishing again but we always hope for the best.

Yep, plus the hydrilla was starting to come back at Amistad, but I'm sure all of this water will knock it back. Hope it doesn't pull a "Stillhouse" and kill it all. Amistad has a lot more cover than Stillhouse, but I think it fishes better when the hydrilla is doing good.

Hey Barnez, did You get someone to fish with You. I tossed and turned for several days trying to make that happen. Good luck this weekend

If it fills all the way back up, it will make fishing tough next year. But that's probably good for the fishery, lots of fish can get back in places that us anglers can't pressure them. Long run that's a good thing smile A few years ago when it was way up, most of the areas you couldn't get within 50 yards of the bank. But where you could get back in their following the old goat trails and stuff, the fishing was like gang busters!

I hear ya no the Stillhouse effect..that lake has suffered since the flood in 2007...Only fish I hear being caught are extrememly deep..You used to be able to run alot of spots shallow and deep and put a dent in them..not anymore

Fishing may be tough for a while if it over fills, but should be great this fall if it is back to normal or slightly below normal pool.
