After my post about needing trips this weekend Clark called me and booked me for the morning and then had Cindy for Fisherman's Wharf call and boo the afternoon. Needless to say Saturday was a L O N G day.

Started the day with Clark and his friend Adam. Began by looking at Key Ranch and saw not much there, moved up the lake and not much on Merrimac so we rtan on up the lake to a couple of points I know and proceeded to catch 27 nice Samdies and 1 20" Hybrid on Lead Babies and on Burgess Baits in 12 to 16 feet of water. That bite slowed to a crawl and we then pulled out the Hell/Pets and moved on up to the IW and put another 13 Sandies and 3 more Hybrids in the box.

Clark and Adam had a good time and I think Clark learned a little about the lake and how to use the Hell/Pet.

So, I cleaned fish then went and had lunch with Valerie at Cedar Creek Cafe - ladies and gentlemen be sure to spend time with each other it is sure tiem well spent! Ok off of soap box now.

Cindy and her guest Terry were nest on the list. Cindy had seen Valerie and I come in one evening with 8 Hybrids between 19 and 24". She decided that looked like fun and remembered that Saturday was open so she called me and we set it up. Sunday this week I actually reserved for God and Valerie so that worked out well.

Anyway went back up the lake to the point mentioned and found a whole lot of nothing then fished EI and caught some there on the Hell/Pet. Moved back to the IW and caught some more and 2 Hybrids and Sandies. We were getting close to time to go so we went over to an area where we had picked up some Hybrids and caught 4 more between 19 and 24". Cindy had a blast reeling her fish in!

Slabbing was all Lead Babies and Burgess Baits. Lead Babies in the Irish Special and Burgess in the 1 ounce Clown.
Trolling was the undeniable Hell/Pet.
Casting was Green Metal Flake Sassy Shads on Burgess Baits jig head in 1-ounce Chartreuse with a start and stop retrieve.
Water temp wa in the mid to upper 80's and clarity was ok. Most trolling fish were actually suspended in 20 - 23 feet of water.

Long Hot day with HOT fishing - 64 Sandies, 9 Hybrids and 2 Blue Cats.

EI is Enchanted Isle and IW is the Iron Wall Both are just noth of mid lake on the east bank.

The Iron Wall is a big sea wall that has a big rock boat house just and I mean just north of it.

Enchanted Isle is a subdivision that has a long thin cause way going out to it.

Hopefully Steve Bradbury will see this post and reply he is much better at directions than I am.

The Lead Babies I am using is the PeeWee size in the "Irish Special" color pattern. Connie can and will make you up some.

Thanks Omar. I know where they both are, just didn't associate the acronyms.

Go up the lake from the dam, stay on east side and you will see it on your right. There is a series of drop offs, with a cove that actually has a channel coming out of it. It is also a good spot on top of it or deeper towards the big rock boat house. If you miss it, then you were not looking...LOL.

Both are before the spillway hump. Also, Enchanted Isle is on the same side of lake, north of spillway hump, look for a big white wooden house on the shore by itself.

Nice trip!
