So, I've never fished traylor island. I've heard its a boat parking lot on the weekend, but whatever. I'm out of Holiday Beach and I'm considering trailering the boat and launching out of the ramp near the island. So here's my question:
Where the heck do I go? I'm always so paranoid about smacking a reef of sticking the boat. I was hoping someone could draw on a google image the route I take. Any place I should avoid?
Any help would be greatly apprecaited. I hate following boats around.

I was down that way early spring. If you put in at Cove Harbor if ya go to the right you'll have to cross Estes Flats to get to Traylor Island. Or go to your left and you can stay in deeper water all the way around to the outside side of the island. A Top Spot map will show ya the depths and locations. I went both ways and prefered the out-side route. Top Spot map #F116 Just thought if you go by the Tackle Shop in Fulton They should have a good map for that area maybe better than the one I made reference to.

its a pretty easy run from cove harbor or the rockport public ramp at the ski basin. looking at google maps from either place, there are no reefs for you to be concerned about and you can make it there using a compass or just line of sight. good luck, and it is, was, will be a circus. get there early and spread out.

Go down the ICW from Cove Harbor Marina, to marker #17 green, hang left between the the poles. Once you clear the poles take about a 2 o'clock heading. That should put on course towards Bird Island and Traylor.
