I just purchased a Lowrance HDS5 Fishfinder and I need to know if it is better to have the transducer in the rear of the boat with the display at the console, or the transducer on the trolling motor and display up front. I have never had a GPS model, so which is more beneficial? Oh, and I cannot afford another unit to have one at each location.
Thanks

Do you have anything at your console? If not, I would put it there and the transducer at the rear.

I think I will put it on the console. Do you know if there is some kind of mount that will allow me to spin the unit around so I can see it from the front deck?

Professionally and effectively mount your high speed "skimmer-type" transducer, LSS-1,SI transducers effectively...and without drilling any holes whatsover.

Get a "Ram" mount. It allows you to put the unit in about any position.
