Went to the Grasslands on monday with my dad and slayed the bass...again. Fished Rhodes from 6-10a.m. got breakfast then went to clear lake. Together we caught between 50-60 bass.

The bass were biting topwater frogs all day. I paddled around making long casts toward the shoreline and working the frog back. I always got bit on the grass and never in open water. Caught a few on strike king ocho as well. The fishing is very easy right now on the lakes. I caught my last two fish at the damn of Clear lake at 2:30 p.m on topwater frog just before we left. The fish will bite topwaters from sun up to sun down.

Here is the frog and hook after the bass spit the bait. I had the bass hooked by the very tip of the hook as I was applying pressure with the rod.

Yes, those are plums, and make the best jelly I ever had. My grandmother used to live by a wild plum orchard and would make jelly every year. I miss the jelly, but I really miss Grandma. Be careful around there. Copperheads and other snakes lie in wait for the birds that eat the plums. Grandma never ventured into the orchard without a high pair of dingos on.
