Kate, have you considered Rollover pass? Closer and you can stay in Galveston.

Now, Donald...please pick John Bolton for your running mate.

I heard 124 was closed but they opened it back up yesterday afternoon .
Water was about four ft above normal .

I'm planning a trip there monday .

Here's the closer story but I can't confirm the reopening .

Kattelyn,

I will be down there the 11th thru 17th and have an extra yak. (Scrambler XT). I Wouldn't mind taking you fishing out on the flats if we can work out a schedule. Maybe Mexicajun and Landpirate can get loose and we can make it a TFF trip.

The wifes been itchin to hit the salt bro. We eould have to rent a double Yak cause I would have to paddle lol. Our Yak is a 19' Carolina Skiff lol. I'm sure I could talk Mrs Mexicajun into it with minimal arm twistin though. Always great to meet other TFF'ers also & make new friends. So yeah I'm pretty sure the Mexicajun Crew would be down for some skinny water fishin. Ole LP might not have any more light tackle with all the off shore fishin he does.

One of these days I'm going to Land the BIG ONE!!

Sorry guys! This is the first chance I've had to see this!

No can do. Even though technically my b-day isn't til the 11th, we can't make it back down. Folks had to have time off to allow me to have the car that long, plus funding had to be made available.

However.... yes, it was worth it.

12", 18" and 28" redfish on 10 lb test.

a few hardheads - didn't bother to even guesstimate size.. just big and ugly and slimy suckers.

1 about 10" trout

1 "big ugly" Looked kinda like a guitar fish????? sorta flathead catfish ish, but with once past the side fins, it had a solid fin all the way down around the tail. Big, UGLY, didn't fight hardly at all.

oh, and, two oysters that bit my hook for some odd reason??

Kattelyn, Glad to hear you caught some fish. Don't know what you caught there at the end. Got any pics of it?

Nope.... unfortunately my cell doesn't have a camera and I was out there by myself.

And no, Txaggie, only time I've ever gotten bit by a fish was the red snapper that tried to take my thumb.
