If you do fish on Texoma, or have been thinking about giving it a shot, you need to consider picking up some of the FREE information that's available on what, where, and how.

Texoma is right at 90,000 acres. That's over 140 square MILES of water. Where to go, what to do, how to do it? With gas at $3.00, experimenting is more than a little expensive!

Jeff "JD" Lyle and I, Mark Macnamara, have been doing FREE seminars at the Boater's World store in Lewisville twice a month since early spring. Between us, we've got nearly 40 years of stiper chasing on the big lake, and we fish over 300 trips a year. Both of us present seminars regularly in other venues, and contribute to published articles in magazines and periodicals.

But, because they're free, and fairly low-key and informal, the seminars at Boater's World are not very heavily utilized on a regular basis. We both tend to post notices here, and on some of the other boards, but there is no real promotion other than a regular notice in the Texas Outdoor Journal.

Both of us have been a little frustrated with the missed opportunity to share what we know, and do nearly every day, when we know there are literally HUNDREDS of folks that come on up to the lake to chase stripers. Right now, there are "boat shows" out there on the weekends that are 50-60 boats strong, and every one of them wants to get their share of the action.

If you're one of them... or would like to be... keep in mind that on every other Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00pm, either JD or I are at Boater's World talking to other folks just like you about what we've been doing the past week, where we've been doing it, and how we've been doing it. We also talk about what we are looking at, and planning for the next week. You won't get that kind of information anywhere else except riding along with us in the boat. And we all know that ain't free...

The next seminar is this coming Tuesday. That's July 25 at 7:00pm at the Boater's World store on FM 3040, just west of the big mall, on the south side of the road. I'm up this time around, and JD will be up two weeks following that.

I'll be talking about the current patterns, what's working and what's not, and what upcoming patterns and changes we expect. Come on down!

Mark,

Someone is gonna ask this........you just know they will......so I will be the first this time to ask. "Are you gonna give the detailed bait fishing report?......and maybe some pointers on catching some bait?"..... OK..you knew someone was gonna ask it!

Mark/JD, Do you guys give any seminars around the Sherman area? I work the first half of the week so i will always miss the lewisville gig. I don't spend a lot of time on the water (money) but would like to be able to get some stripers more consistently than i due. Seminars around sherman would be awesome!

We do occasionally HB, but there are not a whole lot of places/events that work well for it. We were at the Texas on the Fly event out at Eisenhower in June, and had a great group of sportsmen and sportswomen organized by the Red River Flyfishers club.

There has been some talk... emails, actually... flying around about a group of us putting together a series of clinics at some point in the near future. No dates yet, but we will keep folks informed.

As for that bait stuff Van, you know I fished a couple of bait trips this week, so I do have some current info, as a matter of fact. Even when I don't though, I've usually got pretty current (like today!) reports from some of those guys that are using bait daily.

Mark and JD do put on a great seminar!

Mark - for those of us who live a great distance from Lewisville, why not film each seminar and make it available for a nominal fee? Or with the low cost of DVD's and media mail, maybe Boater's World could do it as a promotional/advertising item.

West of I-35, probably about one mile. South side of the road. Look for the boat parked out front.

Tonight's the night! See you there!

Yup!

Did have a pretty good turn out. I'm really pleased to see some new faces, and have them show up loaded with questions.

Thanks Guys!

Stand by for the next one in two weeks on Tuesday evening. JD will be up, bringing you the latest news on what's workin' and what's not.
