Well, my daughter Gracyn(16) and her buddy Alex(17) decided they wanted to "go fishin" with Dad so off we went to LL after work on Thurday. Really was kinda windy once we got there but we said "what the heck" anyway and took off from Little Elm ramp.

Checked deadmans and not much there then pulled off to a spot near the gravel pits where I ran up on a guy who kinda looked like he was on a "mission" so I stayed clear of him and tried to find some fish off to the east of his location. After not finding much and easing back over his way, he motioned me over as he somehow knew I was trying to hook these kids up on some fish. As we approached he went on to explain what he marked out with his buoys and within minutes Alex had a 23" freight train hybrid on his light action spinning rod! Biggest fish he had EVER caught bar none, he said! What a fish!





After boating that one the next one "belonged" to Gracyn. Less than 5 minutes later another freight train hybrid showed up and Gracyn fought that fish to the boat! This time a 24" incher! Biggest fish she had EVER caught bar none! Again I heard, What a fish, Dad!



After they both caught their fish and posed for pics we decided to take off to the "hill". I thanked the fella for motioning us over and asked if he was on the TFF and what his handle was and he responded yes he was and he was known as Holzer. Yep, had no idea it was Holzer and just wanted to publicly thank ole Holzer for making the evening special for these younguns and myself!

They have been talking about it non-stop among themselves and their buddies on facebook where they posted the pics as well.

Thanks Holzer you are "The Man" for that great gesture! Cannot tell ya how big a deal that was for those kids! Now all their friends want to "go fishing with Dad"!!

Just thought of the movie "Animal House" when Belushi calls for the Toga party (To-ga! To-ga! etc.), but instead ... the TFF version ... Hol-zer! Hol-zer!! Hol-zer!!! HOL-ZER !!!!

Thanks everyone for the kind words Gene (Champion Fish) you said it best and that really is the truth Fishbyte, you couldn't see it but I was wearing a big ole smile watching those youngn's pulling in those fish. Can't wait for the day when I can take my little man out for some "fishing with dad".
