As usual, you don't understand. This is not about defending anything. This is about a Photo Op for PETA,and guys like you are going to make it happen.

Who cares what she is? It ain't personal. Some of you guys seemed "threatened" by these people. They can't do anything except wave some signs. Be smart and completely ignore them. There are plenty of nut bags out there, and some of them are bass fishermen. If you really want trouble, then bow up and be bad,and you'll create trouble for our sport you never dreamed of. You owe it to all bass fishermen to behave properly and not create some scene for the News 8 camera that came can damage us all. Be manly, and restrain yourselves. Don't verbally respond, they are just trying to bait you.

^ That is the problem with our country now. Too many passive people afraid to stand up against the Liberal Nut cases. It is time to stand up against this none-sense.

I just read all 16 pages as well. I think one thing that needs to be done beside 100% fish care is "ONE" voice for the fisherman. We don't need everyone running around showing there emotion to the camera. That will only make it worse. If only "ONE" person speaks out for us they will have no video of "drunk rednecks" spouting off. With that being said... I think its time to call UNCLE TED!!! Ted Nugent really knows how to shut these people up and would be the one I would love to have defending our rights infront of these nut jobs. I wish I lived a few states closer. I would definately be there to support. Good luck with everything!

Okay, I have read enough....Spaeaking as a Sportsman's wife and a SportsLADY I would like to ask if these PETA people have a clue as to how we do things, like consulting with biologists to learn what we can about the outdoors. Our "PETA Lady" wants to refer to us as "REDNECK SPORTSMAN", well I'm Proud of that!!!!We have taught our children to love the outdoors, and have respect for every living creature we or they come in contact with!
I work at Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth and I see everyday children and babies who are abused, beaten and overlooked everyday. Not to mention our little warriors fighting to survive cancer! If these PETA people really are "protecting every living organism that cannot protect themselves" then maybe they should think about what is more important to fight for! If half the effort was directed to protecting our children as was to some fish, maybe they would see what our "Redneck Sportsman are really like! Big hearted, generous, and willing to stand up for the important things!!! Where were these people when there was the "ST. Jude"s Fishing tournament, or Bassing for Babies. Not to mention the "Wounded Warriors Tournament for those who protected their(PETA's ) freedom of speech!!!!
How dare she call me, my husband or any of you barbaric!!! I am a christian women, raise with christian beliefs and by the Word of God! I was taught to love and respect EVERY LIVING THING! And have taught my children the same! Isn't that what GOD expected of us?! GOD Bless all of you "Redneck Sportsman"!

Just to let you know where PETA stands on humanity....there was a murder here in Tyler where a man killed his wife and was eating her, PETA was in town (over a dog fighing incident) and at the Sheriffs Dept when the investigation was going on. The lead detective on the case was asked about what happened with the man they arrested and without getting into specific details he just told her "he killed his wife and was eating her body" the lady from PETA replied "i'm just glad he wasnt eating an animal"....thats what we're dealing with!!!!!

Heres how they think .... "PETAS Definiton Of a Fisherman"

F is for "fisherman":

noun 1 a person who catches fish for a living or for sport.

or

noun 1 a person ignorant of, oblivious to, or indifferent to the fact that he or she is inflicting pain by catching, suffocating, stabbing, and gutting fish; someone who is hooked on cruelty.

In light of a new study revealing that fish feel and remember pain, PETA Europe has sent a letter to the folks at Oxford English Dictionary asking that they change their definition of "fisherman" to the rather more accurate version above (that's the second one, in case you weren't sure).

Because a fish sea kitten has a nervous system just as humans do, struggles against death, and has lips that are sensitive to the tearing of flesh caused by hooks, PETA Europe considers the Oxford English Dictionary's current definition of "fisherman" a little--ahem--insensitive. Don't you agree?

I agree... You can only turn the other cheek so many times before people walk all over you. FZ1 if you don't think these people are a threat, you're crazy. I THINK these types of people have a certain appeal to some of our youth and others which could rally more to their cause. Are they a direct threat to the CABA this weekend, no... But are they a threat to our future, absolutely! The more numbers and attention they draw to their cause, the more pressured the authorities feel could result in law changes that could be negative to us. I do agree that it is not best to confront them on our turf this weekend but they do need to be confronted and give them a dose of their own medicine! I understand the mentality of these people and know they want a confrontation on the 12th, but we don't need to give it to them. I'd be all about confronting them when the light is not on us.... Any ideas on how to go about at? I'm all ears...

"FZ1 if you dont think these people are a threat you're crazy"........... Lol. Well, nobody's perfect, not even FZ1. The only threat PETA poses is provoking attention getting behaviour from their Targets. That's what they do. There are millions of Bass Fishermen across this country and there is 1 bus load of these protesters, half of them are ladies,so,no,they don't threaten me. The greater threat is some drunked up,jerk of a bass fisherman, swings on one of these sign wavers. We've all encountered jerks on the water, and I just hope none of them shows up and creates a Photo Op for Peta. That's the real threat, and that is what Peta wants to happen. Stay cool, man.
