What are y'all calling a "Drop shot"? Is that where you pinch a split shot in front of a slip sinker to keep it from sliding?

It's only dumb if you don't try it! It is a great tactic to try when the fishing is tough.
Also, don't waste your money on those fancy 'drop shot' weights....just pinch on a big split shot on the end of your line. It pulls right off when you get snagged and you save a ton of money.

what is the shallowest you fish a drop shot...???
I have a friend who fishes it in 3-5 ft, but I've never fished that shallow..
