Need to prove to my boss that I can find stripers on Tawakoni. Plan on using slabs / sassy shad. Coming out of Rabbit Cove - what's the hot spot I should hit first?

I would contact either Matt Cartwright, aka Lakeguide or Joe Read or Jimmy Smith and see if they have a vacancy, othere wise you will spend the day running all over looking for fish.

Take Fastguy's advice - you can give yourself a black-eye or you can spend a little money and look like a hero if you love your job.....just sayin'

I have been on Twak Monday, Wed, Thurs, and Fri. Fish were in completely different spots each day! If Matt had not helped me it would have been a poor week! Joe Read was a great help too, thanks for a great week guys. Best $ spent would be with a guide on Twak or any other local lakes. I guess some Moe's Tackle would help too

Any tips for someone who doesn't have $200+ to spend on a guide? A guide is rarely affordable for most people.

work as hard as you can to keep hand sized shad alive and use the graph to find humps and road beds. been doing pretty well out there. hardest part isnt finding the fish, its trying to keep the shad alive. 5-6" sassy shad on 1 oz jig head works well too

here is my post from thursday 7-1-2010
we did well this afternoon and this evening we released twice what we kept ... sandies, hybrids and stripers in the mix, caught several blues and channels today (why i don't know) also caught 3 - 3+ lbs. sandies today plus a boat load of hybrids and stripers up to 8 lbs. - lots a Rats, a lot of 17" fish --- they wouldn't stretch out LOL on a sad not saw a 20+ lb striper floating dead we all cried a little bit. most fish caught off finger point on the hump, several others caught off sun and cloud point. the others caught off the holiday humps. all fish caught trolling with downriggers - 1 ounce striper gigs with zoom skirts for the stripers/ hybrids and DD-22 for the sandies and cats-LOL goodluck clete
