Fluro is great but you get what you pay for. The lesser priced products are much lesser quality. Seaguar InvizX is twice as good as Red Label. The biggest thing to remember with Fluro is the knot. Make sure it is wet and pull it SLOW...

better tighten up the drag or stiffen the rod if you are going back to mono.. its like fishing with a rubberband! But tie your knots with Confidence... LOL Jody

I use an improved cinch knot. I have tried all of them and its the only one that has not let me down. Caught many big fish at fork this week wrapping me around trees and such and had to horse them out, The only 2 lines I use are Invisx and Berkley 100%, the rest are wortlhess, I considered going away from flouro until I used this combo (improved cinch, berkley 100%)- will not let ya down.

I use the palomar knot for years with Fluoro and I have never had it break at the knot. Trilene 100%, BPS XPS Fluoro, Triple Fish, P-Line and Invisx. All work good for me. Wet THe knot REAL good and tighten it up slow.

I'm a big fan of superlines with a leader for some applications (t rigs, weightless plastics, senkos, shaky heads). Use to use only fluoro, but between the uni to uni and the palomar, there were just too many bad knots, even when I took care. I switched to p line floroclear (copoly) this spring. Not quite as translucent or sensitive as braid to fluoro, but pretty darn close and my knots are a lot better. I actually think the stretch in the copoly has helped some with hookups. Very few breakoffs since. I'm sticking with it.

Ditto on the Jam Knot, but when using fluorocarbon it is necessary to wet the line. When you compare line-to-line, look at each spool at the fine print; look at the diameter of the line. Some folks are comparing apples to plums.. 10 lb Seaguar (New Tatsu) could be the same as 12 lb Berkley or P-line but they are calling it 10lb line. However, there is a difference, just do not go by what pound test is.

I use Pline CX Premium Flouro has very little shock resistance...low stretch and good abrasion resistance but not enough stretch to withstand much shock (ie kinks, knots, hard hooksets on short line)

Use an improved clinch. And with Flouro it is just important to pull the knot slow as it is to wet it.

A big key is when you cinch it down, wet it & go slow, slow, anykind of burn on the cinch will greatly weaken the knot. +1 and i'd try trilene 100% flouro and also the bass pro xps has been good to me

You cant go wrong with seaguar abrazx. It is some tough stuff. You also need to compare line diameter size. Seaguar 20lb is about the same line diameter as 15lb big game. I use 25 lb abrazx on my flipping rig. San diego jam knot is a good knot to try.

alot of people are leaving flouro it seems like, personally i dont know what i would do without it..i use a palomar, eugene bend,or san diego jam.i have no problems..maybe the problem is you have to not only wet your line but cinch it down slowly, the density of flouro can cause the friction leading to a weak knot when you cinch it down too fast, even with a wet knot.i wouldnt give up on it just yet...for me its the abrasion resistance that keeps me throwing it.
