Today I went fishing with Fowltrouble(my Dad) and HunterRed (my big bro).We got out to the lake between 6:00 and 6:30AM. Went looking for any topwater action and found nothing! So at about 7:00 or 8:00 we saw the boat show at Robertson Park. So we rode over there as fast as our little 25 h/p john boat could go. When we finally made it there, there were fish schooling EVERYWHERE! We looked at the graph and it was loaded to!So we dropped our slabs in the water and kept catching magnum sandies and undersized hybrids! laugh Oh and by the way we were using Bobby Burgess slabs, TNT slabs, and tiny torpedos. In the middle of all this catching Huntered drops his TNT slab in the water and BAM! a big fish just snapped his line clean! eeks bang I reeled up the slack line and saw my swivel was still on! I inspected it and apparently my swivel had came loose when I caught the fish before it. After about 2 hours of non stop action the fish went down. We went looking and saw another boat show led by John Varner. By the time we got there they only lasted about 10 min longer. While in the second boat show we saw John Varner, Ruben, and there friend, Doug. Nice to meet yall again! thumb cool smile After that ten min was over we went looking for them. Couldnt find them so we trolled to the right of the jetty. We picked up 6 nice magnum sandies. It was getting hot and with no fish in sight we called it a day.

The highlight of the day was that the first school at robertson park went all the back into the marina and 15 yards away from the roberstson park boat ramp! We ended up keeping 50 to 60 sandies. We only kept the big ones. We could have all had our limits if we kept the small ones!

Probably worked its way out of the split ring. Cut the split ring off and tie directly to the slab...

Im FowlTrouble and I approved the above post by FT2 !!! banana

I will add that it was nice to get to stay on a school of fish for as long as we did. Once they got into the marina area they were easy pickens.
I agree with John Varner though, chasing these schools is hard work, especially in a jonboat (we went through 5 gallons of gas today, in a 6 gallon tank----gulp!!!!). Show me the way to stacked fish that dont move much and Im all good. Tomorrow we are entering the kids tournament. I get to be one team with HunterRed and one team with FowlTrouble2. It will cost me two entry fees, but, hey, its our first tournament ever and I get to fish with my boys. I still havent told them that Im taking all the winnings if we come in first.
