I live about 35mi. from columbus, and would like info. on a place to put in and what type of fishing is best for that strech of water. What depths are you dealing with? Just bought a yak and need to get some experience, but really need to get some slime on it. Thanks for any info.

Put in under the 71 business crossing, take out Beason Park. Total of just over 6 miles. Fairly clear water. Deepest point is probably about 18 ft, average depth about 5.5 ft. Several islands and shallower water in the first half section. A couple mini rapids. Deeper and wider in the second half. Use lighter line cuz the fish are pretty wise. There are quite a few LMB and Guadalupe bass, sunfish, crappie, whites, hybrids. There's also carp and gar if that's your thing. A good place to get familiar w/ a new yak.
