i just changed the oil in my mercury lower unit and i put in mercury high performance and then i read on back of the container were you are not supposed to mix with the regular lube.i have not run the motor since i changed the lube just wondering if i should drain the lower unit again and go back with the regular lube?any advice would be appreciated thanks bruce

i think you will be fine. I think they don't want you using a half quart of one and then a half quart of another since one is sythetic and one is natural. what little was left in the gearcase should not amount to anything. this is my opinion, may be someone else can verify this.

mercury high performane lube is not synthetic.
