I just saw a post from the Bassin for babies guy thanking Oak Ridge Marina for hosting the 91 boats. I would like to add my personal experience at Oak Ridge since they just re-opened. This was my first trip to Fork and I wasn't sure where to stay.

First off, my phone call was taken be Tracey. She and her husband are the new owners and she was very accomodating. I am a novice bass fisherman and I wanted to take our first trip to Lake Fork and my fiance bass fishing. She took the time to explain all the amenities and options and made me feel welcome.
They are new owners as of around March. They just finished remodeling (reconstructing?) the restaurant and various other parts of the property. We had a nice cabin with c-o-l-d air conditioning. Fiance conned me into staying another night. She was having a great time, was -very- comfortable and she was having a great escape weekend.

They also have covered boat slips for $5 a night. Very well lit for when we went night fishing. They are also remodeling (rebuilding) the boat slips, but they are fine now. You can also just tie up on the shore in a protected cove if you are on the lake most of the time and that's all you need.

The restaurant is awesome. The cook at Oak Ridge restaurant used to be at another well known restaurant on the lake and cooks a mean breakfast and awesome 1/3 lb burger. If you are out on the lake around lunch there is an ez place to beach your boat and tie up to a metal bar (like a horse) right near the restaurant facing the huge picture windows overlooking the lake. It is all new restaurant and cook, so this 1/3 lb burger has got to be one of the best on the lake. ( I saw the other posts about best burgers at Fork, so we have to add this one to the list!) You would tie up where the weigh in was at the tournament, just around the small point from their ramp.

Also, if you are night fishing, stop in for breakfast when you are done. We had planned to bring some food and make do with snacks, but after eating there the first morning, we made it there every morning. It is very good. Get the breakfast special for a ton of food at a great price.

It is a great location in the Caney arm with easy access to 154 bridge, main lake, dam, little Caney etc.
No stumps!! ...to get to the boat lane or from boat lane to the marina! We saw 91 boats blast off from the marina to the boat lane, all full throttle. You can get out of the marina and anywhere on the lake fast.
Oak Ridge is a good size place with some permanent residents in RVs so we felt safe all the time... and the boat, electronics and gear left in the slips.

If you are out on the lake this July 4th weekend be sure and stop by.
Even if you are not staying there, stop by and say hi, have a burger or breakfast. You will be glad you did.

I'm glad they are back open. Great view!

I need to get back to Fork more often!

Glad to hear they're under new ownership. Are they still going to have the tackle shop in there?

For many years I've enjoyed the view from the back dining area while eating breakfast or lunch.
I saw some pictures of the construction under way, they're doing a fine job.
It's good to have the restaurant open again, only one that comes close to LFM/Moser's.

I know Tracy and Barry Hatton very well who are the owners of Oak Ridge Marina. This will be a great addition to Lake Fork and I am very excited to be a part of Tracy and Barry's friendship. This will be a very nice place to stay and a very nice restraunt to take the family and kids and I know that Barry and Tracy willmake it a enjoyable expirience.

I stayed there 3 days last week as well and would have to say your review is right on. Nice clean place to stay with some good food.

The new owners are top of the line. Actually very intelligent compared to the majority of the people around the lake. Maybe because they are not from texas... ha. They should do real well with the new place.

Good to hear. The last owners did not do any justice to that place.

Thanks to all for the positive response to our changes at Oak Ridge. We are striving to get the property back to it's "glory days".

Now that the renovations are done in the restaurant, we are moving the construction into the tackle store. Our goal is to have it up and running in time for the fall fishing season.

We are open to any suggestions :o)

Thanks again!

how was the ramp and parking situation? seems like i remember it being a bit rough when i was there in late winter, i.e. no pavement or full of potholes, gravels, roots, washouts etc.? That was my only complaint actually i'm in agreement the rest seemed it should be very good.

First, give thanks to God.

I'm glad the marina is getting a new makeover and all but with all the theft around the lake, you sure had better not be leaving alot of valuables like rods, reels, tackle boxes and electronics in a boat at night. That goes for any marina and motel around the lake. They can't post night security around the marinas and motels at night so you have to be proactive and not leave yourself open to theft. You cant imagine how many people come into Bass Pro Shops to replace all of their fishing equipment that had been stolen out of their boats at night.
And it is not just Lake Fork that has that problem. Bring it inside the room at night or carry alot of insurance just in case.
Regards, Bart
