I was wanting to head out to Roberts this weekend and havent been yet this summer. I know a few brush piles but they never seem to produce keeper fish always 8-9 inches. I was just wondering if anyone had some tips on depth or maybe some bp spots with some quality fish.

You shouldn't have any trouble getting lots of 10-10.5 inch fish fishing timber and bp's. Quality fish over a pound or better are much harder to come by though as they were for lots of people in the tournament this past weekend. I think I was fishing about 16-20 ft deep most of the time in 25-30 ft of water. Tipping jigs or fishing minnows alone will help the bite as well. Good luck out there.

Your best bet would be trying to go out on a trip with Paul or Cliff Spindle to help you locate what timber/brush to target or Cliff and hit some of the bizillion brush piles he has out there. Those guys are both good.

Brush piles from 15 to 30 ft are holding fish. Depending on the day on what size fish will be on them. Take along some minnows.

Look for a good map or 2.
Some have pile markings and coords to them.
Remember to always drop as close to a tree or column as possible and on the shady side 1st.

The map they sell at the Ray Roberts Marina (made by AID Lake Maps)has the Corps brush piles on it. They also have minnows. There are courtesy docks to park your boat and enter the store. If you're over there you might as well try fishing the tires. They produced a few keepers for me last summer.
