From what I understand from all the shops and people I talk to, those chunks are worthless compared to so many other more competitive nature baits like shad, and chicken liver

I've caught quite a few smaller channels with the Gulp bloody shad doughbait and chicken liver chunks. They work in a pinch but not nearly as good as real liver, shad or good punchbaits. Like I said, small cats, never caught any more than 2-3 lbs. It would probably be just as good to use hot dog chunks, nightcrawlers or homemade doughballs. A lot cheaper too.

Always go with the natural baits like shad, perch, etc etc If that doesnt work, go with a punchbait that is popular in your area. If none of that works, go home!

I do ok with the blood power bait on jugs. It isnt nearly as good as real baits but it stays on the hook good

Gulp Dough($$)bait Blood - tried it several times, only had one bite in at least 10 trips.

I seriously had a friend that would try and try to catch fish using that gulp bait. And he never caught anything, perch would bite at it most the time lol. And the best part is I caught more cat's just using nightcrawlers then he got bites from anything HAHA!
Just stick to what the more experienced Texas fisherman say, local punch bait. Or use the food/fish that the fish your trying to catch eat. You cant possibly go wrong using the real deal.

there is a big difference between the catfish chunks and Gulp baits. The chunks are just another dough bait. The Gulp line is supposed to be modeled after live bait. The Gulp is very expensive. The left over "juice" gets added to my driest dough bait blend. If it spills in a plastic kayak, it will stink to high heaven ( worse than any punch or dough bait) all summer. When I use Gulp 2" minnows crappie fishing, I have to spend a lot of time taking cats of all descriptions off. I hit 6 nice ones while fishing the January CAT ( crappie anglers of texas ) tournament. I had to quit using the gulp minnows to get a crappie bite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmwPtiMDANkI have not notice any real difference in the gulp dough baits from other dough baits, but if you have them chummed up, I suspect they would hit a cigarette butt soaked in Pepsi. I stick with live bluegills or fresh shad if I am looking for size, but if just working for the freezer I keep a running stock of dough baits of all descriptions and usually do pretty well. I dump the different brands together for storage convenience and don't think the cats really care. I do the same with my punch baits for rod fishing. Sometimes I think the variety during the day may even help stimulate the continued bite. Best of luck, Phill
