what a month it has been !!! this will be my last report on Texoma for about the next 10 days or so...headed to the NSBA tourney in GA...
Fished today with Jim Givens , His Father and 9 year old son . It was 33 degrees when i got on the water today to get bait... guess what.. No more bait trips for me.. Too cold for that anymore.. time to start throwing jigs
We left the boathouse at 7am and headed out to the same spot that I have been on for 3 weeks... It was windy and very cold.... 2-3 foot swells.
hooked our first fish on the first bait down but lost it at the boat.. Then like every day this week.. the frenzy started.. had 30 fish in the boat by 8:30 and released another 15-20 in the next 2 hours. finally the cold got to everyone and we decided to head for the house... and warmth
Anchored in 37 feet and fishing 3 turns off the bottom. The bait fishing just doesnt get any better than, now....get your self anchored near the ledge on Table top and wait for the fish. you do not have to mark them... Just do it drop your bait anmd they will come.. and come and come !!! been doing this for 3 weeks now and everyday its been working like a charm . My best guess is it should stay like this for at leats another couple weeks...

Is there any other live bait that works if I can't get netted bait?

Jeff and Mark,

You guys kick some striper butt on Lanier! Good luck and have a safe trip out and back.

What can I say, what a trip with Jeff!! Like Jeff said it was cold and windy. But what a great fishing morning. My son won the big fish pot and grandpa loved it too. I can't say enough of how great it is to fish with Jeff. He helped ensure we had a great fishing trip that my son can remember for a long time. Again thank you Jeff for all your help and a fun time.!!

Jim and Steven..

during the winter months i like throwing 3/4 and 1 oz roadrunner style jigs. I dont necessarily use the brand name roadrunners but any horsehead style jigs would work. Sassy shad are equally as good, but the jigs are my Fav.. White with a white trailer is my Fav but in stained water.. yellow on yellow works wonders. for some reason Yellow will out fish white inb stained water. Chartruse is also good but my 3rd choice.
