Just got back from surfside.Wanted to do some surf fishing with my big rods on shore but the sea weed was bad.Tried the jettie for a while but lost the morning wasting time on the beach.Maybe next time.
Canoes, too, are unobtrusive; they don't storm the natural world or ride over it, but drift in upon it as a part of its own silence. (John Graves)

I am told that Alex will be helping to clear it out, should be nice as we get closer to the weekend.
Not that I am glad Alex is around.. heh.. would not want to see anyone hurt. I went through Hugo some years back, actually was out at sea during it.. not fun.
Anyway, we will see when we get out to CC on Friday.

Copperhead, We did the same. Arrived to the beach front to be greeted by choppy seas and seaweed. We went down to the Pass and was'nt impressed there either. We hit a few spots along the ICW and the levy road just for something to do. Maybe next time ??

I fish freeport area and live close. The surf has been good but has picked up. There are still lots of good fish in the bays. Gotta really fish hard tho.

Rather have seaweed than oil, though...God has blessed us so far...

I was at the Galveston Seawall jetties this past Saturday. But I didnt get to make it until the late morning . The water was green and clear, and there were lots of schools of 'silverside' swimming in circles by the jetties. But kept I dragging seaweed in on my spoon each time I casted. +1 on shootisttx's comment.
