I haven't posted many reports in the last few weeks because I was fishing the Tournament at Ray Roberts last weekend but now that is over I can get back to giving you some good reports. Ray Roberts has been producing some good numbers of crappie. Yes you will catch many unders but also a lot of keepers as well. We have been averaging over 120 crappie on a half day trip. Most of the fish have been coming off brush piles from 10 to 30 ft of water, The COE piles are producing some good numbers but most of the better fish are coming off other brush piles. The 3002 bridge is off and on, some days you can catch a lot of good fish other days not so good but it is nice and cool under there . Bigger Timber in 20 to 24 ft of water is also producing some good numbers along with some nice size fish on some days, we have been catching them from 2 turns up of bottom to around half way up. Minnows have been the top producing bait which is normal for Ray Roberts this time of year. You can catch them on jigs too just not as many. Wht/char has been the best color of jig, SlabmeSilly and Rocky Top jigs are doing good. If the fish don't seem to want it try down sizing to a 1/16th or 32nd with a shot weight, It helps and you may even want to add a nibblet to it. Texoma is still producing some very good guality fish. Catching a 2 lber is not uncommon at all on this lake. Brush piles from 10 to 15 ft is the go to place. wht/char is the color of choice on jigs, minnows are also producing if the jigs won't. July will be a good month for catching crappie at either lake. I have openings in July if you want to get into some of the action. The heat has not been very bad going on a half day trip, so don't let the weather keep you off the lake. I am also running a special on a brush fishing seminar which covers everything from fishing brush piles to making that special honey hole. You can visit my web site for more details. Larry (Keyboard) and I winning 1st place at the Horse Country Shootout. All the fish we weighted came off personal brush piles, caught on minnows and wht/char jigs. We caught over 50 keepers during the tournament. 50 keepers caught at Texoma on Sunday. The largest was around 2 lbs. Limit of 25 that I caught last Wednsday at Ray Roberts prefishing for the tourament. All caught off personal brush piles.

Nice report. Congrats to you a Larry again. That full board from yesterday has some good fish on it. Those of your limit had a few I bet would have been some extra cushion for Saturday.

I got $750 (my split from the tournament Saturday)in my pocket that proves Cliff know's Ray Roberts pretty good. If you're looking to find fish he's the guy to go with.
If you don't do anything but one of his seminar trips it'll pay off with some good outings for sure.

Nice job. Was that tournament on Sat at Roberts? Buddy and I hit the lake and man were all the brush piles we know of busy! Did catch 1 2lber and 2 close to 2lbs though. Was a busy day for the crappie guys on Roberts. Never went to so many piles just to find people on them all!:)
