I know this has probably been discussed a bunch before but I did a search and could not find it--so my question is--"are the lucky craft lures worth the extra cost as compared to other similar lures? I have had a couple of good knowlegeable fishermen tell me that in their opinion they are worth the extra $ and that is about the only hard baits they use. Thanks

Absolutely worth the money. Only crankbaits I throw any more.

Absolutely worth the money. How so? I've never thrown one. For comparison's sake, I'll fish a Yellow Magic, but I'm not really convinced it fishes any better than a cheap Academy knock-off.

Yes. At first I didn't think so but they have proven their worth on more than one occasion. I've picked up many a fish behind someone not throwing them.

Then you'll be happy throwing Academy baits. It is just a confidence thing. I use both. Sometimes I like the rattle of the Academy baits, sometimes the silence of the LC. LC also has some depths and colors I like better too. The ONLY difference is the tears when you loose $16, 3 times in one day!

First off, as to the yellow majic, I'll put it up against any popper stlye mass-produced bait, including the H20's, As for the crankbaits, The LC D20 cranks will outproduce a DD22 about 3 to one, in my experience at Lake Fork. They go deeper and just falt seem to draw more strikes. I'm not sponsored by them and pay retail for all of em. Finally, LC's RC line of shallow runners and square bills are about as good as it gets, without buying hand carved customs.

If the fish are real aggressive it doesnt matter what brand you throw, but on those tough bite days the Lucky Crafts seem to shine. IMHO.

They are worth it. Treat yourelf to a Spring Craw LV 500 and a trip to Fork or Rayburn in the Sping. If there is any doubt left then you must have been using dynomite before.

I could never justify spending that much money on one lure. I've seen too many other less expensive, less "sexy" crankbaits that will produce.
