Guys can you help me out? Last week i was out on Lewisville early morning in my boat. I saw fish boilling on the top of the water. Obviously chasing bait. I tried several times to make my way over and try to catch a few, with NO luck. I tried a spinner bait, crank bait and even live bait, to no avail. What am I doing wrong? What do you guys recommend as far as catching fish when they're boiling on top like that??

I get within casting distance and toss in an unweighted fluke.

thanks guys.

so when i see the fish boiling, do i throw in front of them? in the middle of the pack (or will that spook the fish)? Do i let the bait sink a little or stay on top for the most part?

i appreciate all the insight. im new to boat fishing, been a bank fisherman most of my life.

I've seen that on Lewisville, and they are definitely white bass. I have caught decent bass out of those schools before, in areas where I already knew there were bass. If there is a bass or two in there you can probably catch them on a spinnerbait. I definitely wouldn't chase those schools around though, not worth it.

White Bass. Throw a Pop R and you can catch them every cast. Also a Little George as mentioned before or a rattle trap.

Clear baby Torpedo and just reel rapidly.
