Anyone fishing the lake today?

I was going to, but ended up not going.

JPW-Interesting, I had heard that once before about the lake not being fertile enough, but didn't think much about it. Make sense I guess.

I am headed to the lake the next two days (in the evenings), I will give you guys a report when I get off the water.

6/20 Got skunked under the bridges...Probably one of the worst times i had out there this year...Only fished with minnows..Fished the first bridge and second..went all over all of the bridges from pile to pile...then the docks..nothing to brag about 5 crappue 3 keepers one non keeper sandie...

My wife and I just got in a couple of hours ago,started at Fireman's,marked lots of deep fish...nada...then right at dark,and I mean DARK..they come alive on top and we had them to ourselves!!!We caught 14 in 10 mins.,kept 8,biggest being 15 in.!!!!!Biggest I've caught out of the Pool,still oly weighed probably a quarter of a pound...ha ha.....is the tourney still on for next weekend?Hope so,figure we have no chance,but would like to meet some of the poolie posse,and eat some fish!!

Sounds like a great short trip.

My son is coming in town this weekend & hope to get out and chase some sandies in the evenings.

Fishing report for Tuesday 6/22/2010.
Hit the lake around 4:30pm.

After recieving a tip (Thanks Mark) I fished near the bridge on the south branch.

As soon as we pulled up, the sandbass were hitting the top all around us.

First cast and I discovered a dink sandbass on my newly purchased pink mice. (from finnytribe.com)

The wife caught one as well.

The fish went down and we were drownin' minnows to get them.

They weren't bitin' very much. Ended up catching one keeper sandbass (10.001") and small crappie and a nice little channel cat on the minnows.

Started to head to party cove to take a swim and the motor wouldn't go down. It would go up, but not down.

So, we inched our way back to the ramp.
Boat's in the shop now.

Good luck in the tournament if it is still on for tomorrow.

Got into some top water sandies today( about 10 schools) all keepers,all were released.

What time were they schooling? I am gonna hit the lake in the morning

Went to go wakeboarding last nite (6/25/10) at about 5 p.m. Had a problem. the white bass were were so active I was scared to jump in. Luckily, I had three poles already rigged to catch the little critters to thin them out a bit. Caught about a hundred, kept 40 or so to eat, threw the rest back. Still got the wakeboarding in before dark. They were schooling up multiple places on west fork of lake. I don't know if it was the full moon, proximity of the storms, lack of wind, or lack of ski boats or PWC, but the white bass were on. Probably 40% were undersizes, 40% 10 or 11 inches, and 20% a little larger. Had about 5 pounds of fillets when funished. Gonna try again this weekend, will have both the wakeboard and poles ready.
