Haven't been down in a year or so and was wondering if the hydrilla is back? Anybody been out since the rain on Wed, curios if the water is stained from the rain?

Thanks

There is no hydrilla to speak of, unless I haven't come across it. Probably the best time to fish is at night right now. I went out there last Friday night from about 8pm to 4am and caught about 60 blacks. None of them were big but it was a lot of fun.

Grass is definately coming back, just not real good yet. With the lake levels being normal and the lack of rain, so far it has been a good year for the grass. It will take a couple of more years for the lake to get back to what it was but there's stillsome quality fish to be caught.

That pic was taken in 2007 when it was easy to catch some big ones, but have you caught many lately like that? In 2007 I caught as many as 20 like that in one day.

20 like that is hard to believe, but during 2005, 2006, and 2007 i fished stillhouse a couple times a week and it was not uncommon to catch a 5+ every time. Right after the big flood that killed the grass anyone could go out there and catch 20 to 30 bass in the two to three pound range everyday. The lake was on fire for about 5 years, but has sadly went down hill.

OK....I'll humble myself, not 20 everytime but we did have a few days where we caught plenty from the 4lb to 10lb range. It was better during 06-08 then and now has slumped off.

What are you talkin about? I would NEVER drink on the water. LOL. That was a fun night. My wife and I were campin and she hardly ever fishes with me but it was a real nice night with no wind and she went with me. Well, I was just worried about her catchin fish so she would have a good time some I rigged her with a wacky Senko. She was catchin some purdy good ones. I had to kind of "stroll" around with the trollin motor since there was no wind so she could just let the bait do it's thing. Meanwhile, I was draggin a Texas rigged worm and castin here and there in a spot I was sure had some good fish. She kicked my but in numbers and weight but I got the big one. I've caught lots of bass between 5 to 7 pounds but there aint nuthin like hookin a 10 pounder. Very fun evening. My wife caught some good fish and I FINALLY got a 10 lbr. I just wish it was in a tourny. BTW, the Bud Light did help. It's always does. LOL

I work over seas and don't have time to fish tourneys when home but my brother in law fishes a lot of them around that area. He does pretty good too.
