A couple of weeks ago I had a another rebar incident (my 3rd) while at Lake Fork. Since then I've made it a point to mark a GPS waypoint for each rebar location I see while on the lake.

I thought I'd post what I've recorded so far ---- maybe will prevent others from having the problem; at least with these locations.

1. N32 54.020 --- W095 40.098
2. N32 54.030 --- W095 40.127
3. N32 54.036 --- W095 40.139
4. N32 52.156 --- W095 31.726
5. N32 53.154 --- W095 32.295

More to come - I know there are plenty more out there!

if you got any other "watch out for coordinates" handy I would love to punch them in too. or suggestions. thanks a bunch. I cant afford to replace my boat. Might could actually replace boat but not it and a divorce lawyer too.

The old rusty rebar is from stump markers people put out. When the stump was marked with rebar it typically had some PVC with a reflector. The water gets up in the spring and the PVC floats away leaving the rebar. If you see an old rusty piece of rebar poking up. Do all you can to pull it out. Most likely the person that put it there is not maintaining the marker.

Maybe we should have a Lakes Hazardous GPS location Forum Board.

rebar tip ::
to pull out , it is easier if there is enough to bend over 90 degrees.
then you can rotate it around ,and loosen it up ..
they come out pretty easy if you do this ..
be careful of the side of your boat when doing this ..

I have pulled hundreds up , but they keep breeding on this lake
