I have been on the fence about buying a used Legend team boat, and I decided to finally go another direction. But I cannot say enough about dealing with Randy Qualls and his committment to his customers - past, present, and future. He absolutely bent over backwards to work me a deal, and the co-owner of a boat company typically doesn't get "down in the weeds" for a potential customer - particularly for a used boat. I definitely see the attraction to Legend boats. Thanks, Mark.

@ TwoRangers....NO wood in the boat... transom, stringers, and deck components are all constructed using vacuum formed "fiberglass board" if you would call it that. Multiple layers of glass/resin are bonded together on a vacuum table, which removes ALL air pockets, and the result is an incredibly strong "sheet" of fiberglass, which is then cut into individual components. I picked up a piece of this stuff and hit it on the concrete floor.... not even a cracked corner, but it rattled my hand pretty good! As far as "what's the deal with a Legend?" Anyone who owns one, knows, and many have said... customer service, style, ride, performance, fishability, and the buyer's ability to completly customize the new boat! Great boats and Great People, anyone looking for a boat owes it to themself to look into a Legend Boat. If anyone is in the Rayburn/TB area and wants a ride, just let me know.

I will be in the market for a new boat next year. With all that has been said I will seriously look at a Legend. There's just one thing I don't understand. The boats are built in Arkansas, I assume Qualls is there too. How does he get in on so many boat deals? I assume you Texas boys are purchasing your boats here. Right? I'm not questioning the customer service of the dealers around Texas, just how is Qualls involved in so many of these purchases. Are you guys taking your boats to Arkansas to be serviced?

Randy Qualls lives in Streetman Tx, he is not only the president/co-owner of Legend Boats, he is also the only Texas rep. Since Legend does not have dealers in every city, Randy is involved in many deals and can run them through the nearest dealer. Service has never been an issue for me...I have owned two Legends and in 5yrs and aside from a pump going out, and hitting a stump with rebar in it, I have never had any trouble with either boat.

I say this not joking around, but Randy is EVERYWHERE. He'll show up when you least expect it, I was on the water yesterday when he called and said he was going to get with me this week or weekend. Thats just the way it is.
I was thinking that no matter what boat you buy something will go wrong or will break its just the nature of ALL boats. Its not like a car driving around the neighborhood, you take a car off roading everyday somethings gonna break. Knowing that going into buying a boat whats the number one thing that you should be worried about is who's gonna fix it and how that process goes, thats whats great about a Legend, of course its pretty nice knowing that a Legends gonna hold together better than most if not all.

Thanks T_Howard...that is the type of an answer I was looking for...I have been mulling over getting another boat and the new Rangers are great - but man they have gotten expensive and I owe it to my pocketbook to look around a little. I would like to look at these I think...
The only other bass boat I have ever fished out of or have been in that rivals the Ranger boat is the ChampioN I once owned and fished for a few years. I would like to give the Legend a look and I looked at their website and did not find a dealer around Arkansas - but I think they are made in Arkansas....strange.

I have a 211, my partner and I won it this past march. Can't say enough good about the boat I could go on, and on. I had a rod stap broke before the Stren probablly my fault, Randy was somewhere in Dallas and drove down and put it on for me in 95 degree heat and brought down an extra prop or two and we tried different props to see if we could get the boat running faster, as if it didn't run fast enough. He wanted to tweak things just to do it. He also gave me an extra prop hub in case mine broke. Everyone in the warehouse also will know you by your name if you go and pick it up its amazing. My hummingbird wasn't working before the open I had just gotten it called up Lou on a saturday and he spent 45 minutes on the phone in the morning till we figured it out. CUSTOMER SERVICE will blow you away. I live down in Nacogdoches and will give anyone that asks a test drive any time I have available or if I'm out one the water which is a bunch just call me up. Ill take you up on that offer. Ill be back in Nac in August for school and as long as we go to sam and test drive it around your gps points Im game. Haha Great riding boats though everybody is giving them props for the rough water and dry ride they are absolutely correct.

If you've never owned one...you wouldn't understand. I've had one for 5 years and never an issue with construction, cracks, spider cracks like many other brands develop within just a year or two. Best built boat on the market...and the Alpha Series is built even tougher than the LE Series. Bare none!!!
They are built like tanks and take on some serious water. There is one for Sale in the Boats 4 Sale section...!

I am on my third Legend and have loved all of them. I didn't have an issue with any of them. Guys, you really need to DRIVE one to understand what everyone is talking about. I live in Jasper and would welcome anyone in the market for a boat to drive mine. Customer service is beyond excellent, and yes, Randy will get personally involved at every opportunity.

Randy and I have been friends for over 20 years and I met him when he used to buy his Champions from me. We have fished together, done business together, and even spent a couple of Thanksgivings with our families together. He was the one who introduced me to Jim Jeffcoat of the Dallas Cowboys in 1991 that started all our relationships with the NFL players buying boats from us still today. When Randy got ready to buy/start Legend boats, we had long talks together about what it would take to succeed as a manufacturer. He listened to what I thought was important on the dealers side of doing business, as well as what it takes to keep customers happy. His success in his other business ventures also helped me in mine. It has took awhile for Fun-n-Sun and Legend to finally get partner together due to logistics and other brands, but I am extremely happy that two years ago we took them on. I have always been impressed with Randy as a straight up friend and attention to details; but the boat is equally impressive. I actually run a Alpha 211 as my personal boat. With many boat manufactures sticking their heads in the sand to hide until this economy turns around, Its really refreshing to have another company man (like we have with Skeeter) that will always answer your phone and listen to what you've got to say -BAD or GOOD! Just my 2 cents, Jeff

I met Cyndi at a tournament in the spring and I was impressed with the legend boats, I was about to sell my Skeeter and get into a bass cat. A few days later I had a call from Randy one of the owners of Legend boats and he talked to me like we were old friends. He even offered to drive down to Houston to take me fishing. How many boat companies do that now days? None. Long story short I will be picking up my legend in about a week. Randy and Cyndi are top notch people and I talk to them at least twice a week. The customer service is outstanding. I feel like I am apart of a huge family now and I have never met such nice people that go out of their way to make someone happy, Especially a random person that they met at a tournament. I call his cell phone and he says hey Josh whats up. It is amazing how they treat their customers and how their boats are built. They will have my business from now on. Best best customer service/boats and people in the industry hands down.
I am in the NW Houston area and I also have a place on Rayburn if anyone wants to ride in a Alpha 211. Feel Free to shoot me a pm anytime for a test ride.
