A sharp-shinned hawk flew onto my deck, looked around for a few minutes, flew across the yard to the roof in the background, let bluejays dive bomb it for a few minutes, flew to a tree in the next yard, flew back to my deck, flew to the roof of the storage shed in the yard, flew back to the deck, flew off, caught a bird in midair, and flew away. Cool stuff.

The photo was taken through the glass door to the deck while sitting at my dining table.

Mean lil fella. I always loved to watch the breeding pair I had in my yard a while back just own the bird feeder. LOL.

They were meaner than hell, until the Northern Goshawk showed up with more mean in her and ate the male.

Gorgeous pic there, though. Great definition through the glass and all.

great shot

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Awesome looking bird, and great photo. thumb

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.
