Man oh man were they hitting this morning. Me and my mom went out about 7:30 this morning and they were already running before I got the boat on the lake. We never had to leave the two coves here near key ranch, they were all up in the coves. Between us we caught 76 whites/striper and hybrid. Some serious line stretching this morning for only fishing 2 hours. Biggest ones were around 3 lbs but they sure did fight like heck. Anyway, I'm looking forward to another 75+ tonight. Its some good times on CC for those of you who can make it out.

Key ranch is on the west shoreline...just up form Cedar Creek Landing and the A frame house which is on the map. You cannot miss it......if you look at a map.

Get there early and look for surfacing fish all up and down it.

Not sure what you are talking about Arnold Hills on CC...that name escapes me....though I know of an area where there are some powerlines on the western shore....What area are you talking about...Lower lake, mid lake say around spillway or north of that?

It would be north of spillway about 1/2 mile. There are some power lines going across a big body of water. North of them are a few coves then the two island near the bridge that goes to gun barrel. I am looking at buying a lake house in that area but wanted to know how the fishing was.

I hardly ever go up there as I put in at the southeren end and mid lake area....but fishing up that way is good. Lots of folks fish up there and never reach the southern end..... I would email Ernest Paty off this site and ask him, he lives up that way.

The times I have fished up there it has been good. Heck, the whole lake is good.

You would not have to travel far for good fishing for bass, sandbass, hybrids under lights, crappie....etc....

The run from the Spillway to Powerline Bay is 4.3 miles via water. Yes, fishing is fantastic on that end of the lake...generally shallower and warmer water temps.

Good luck,

ML

i have never really sandbass fished on the north end, but great catfishing. The sandbass on the first cove on the east side, hit great in the evenings.
