A boat mechanic friend of mine told me to put the Marine Stabil in my boat everytime I fill her up for this reason. Regular Sta-bil helps but is not effective.

Dons Port has plus and premium, I took that as 89 and 93. I bought the 89 octane over memorial weekend for around $3.00 per gallon. My boat holds 36 gallons, was almost empty and it was $100 to fill it up. Plus a tip for the nice girl that pumped the gas and held the boat.

We have a Sam's here in Wichita Falls. I didn't see any Stickers saying the gas contained ethonal, so I asked an attendent and he assured me they didn't have ethnol in their gas. I also read that the marine sta bil is better to use. It isn't with the regular sta bil at Wal mart. It is in the marine section.

I use Valvtect at the suggestion of someone on another board, seems to be the trick product out there for water in gas problems!

Marine STA-BIL (blue stuff) is supposed to help protect against ethonal damage.

I plan on finding out if they do.

I have done some research this afternoon (a little too late you might think), and yes, it appears that StaBil Blue (marine) will give you some protection, but not total, but honestly, a little is enough for me. I went to BPS and bought some this afternoon and I am on the hunt for a station that advertises that they use no ETH. Too little, too late.

Not to be any more contrarian than usual but have you noticed that nearly everything that goes wrong with a fuel system is now blamed on ethanol?

There has been ethanol in gas for a long time and Mercury should have been aware of that fact.

It ain't easy making it look easy.
